The only problem with natural wilderness is
that it will either irresistibly ignore you
or will impersonally consume you.
The only problem with developed civilization is
that it will either carelessly assimilate you
or will impersonally brutalize you.
Regrettably,
most wretched events are unavoidable,
and there is no peace on earth.
The world really is out to get you,
and these frightening ordeals always leaves scars,
but nobody ever gets through them all alive.
