"Let's run it up the flagpole and see who salutes!"
Enlisted Men think that turning-off the lights
is foreplay! ... and that it's a difficult lonely job, but
someone has to do it!
Non-Commissioned Officers know enough sneaky
tricks to get-around most defenses so as to seize their
objective!
Warrant Officers get so preoccupied with the
details that they forget where they were headed and why they
wanted to get there!
Company-Grade Officers employ the tactic of
frontal assault for the utter glory of hand-to-hand combat ...
usually dying heroically on their bayonet!
Field-Grade Officers assign a staff-study,
coordinate logistics, develop strategic alternatives, plan for
contingencies, and before any of their grandiose operations can
be executed, the objective is usually surrendered out of sheer
boredom!
General Officers devote themselves to composing
memoirs on their past exploits, and then beg incessantly for
their pathetic fantasies to be reenacted!
What kind of a soldier are you?!
