People want to get that wonderful feeling of
accomplishment
without having to actually accomplish anything!

Most people don't want any criticism;
they just want credit for showing up wherever the job may be
because they're obviously special people
... but they resent anyone else who also gets credit for just showing up.

Most people don't want any advice,
because they really don't intend to change,
and they want to be appreciated for who they are already,
since they're going to do whatever they want anyway.

If you don't say anything to them,
then you probably won't be wrong,
and might not get blamed.

If you just listen,
then you'll eventually hear every possible excuse and every imaginable rationale.

If this is true, then you can't say that you weren't warned.

At one time,
I wondered why nothing was ever accomplished quickly enough,
but now I marvel that anything is
accomplished
at all!
